Christian convert due for release in January 2020.
Islamic Republic supreme judicial authorities refused to grant Ebrahim, a Christian convert who has been incarcerated in RajaiShahr prison for special leave during the Persian New Year’s holiday. He’s been in this situation in prison for about four years and has not been given permission for temporary leave.
The prevention of this Christian from going on medical leave he has caused physical and mental weakness for this prisoner.
Concurrently he has an old and sick mother that is now for a year suffering from cancer and Ebrahim’s younger brother has been caring for his mother and as she is undergoing medical treatment coupled with poor health condition which has prevented her from visiting her son at the RajaiShar prison to meet his son and prison officials, being insensitive to this situation, have prevented Ebrahim Firuzi from visiting his mother.
The Court of appeal was held for this prison of conscience last year on 11th of December 2016 and the initial sentence of five years of prison was re-affirmed. This Christian convert is due for release from jail in January 2020.
After release from prison he will be exiled to Sarbaz township, one of the most deprived and disadvantaged areas of the Sistan-Baluchestan province.
Right now he along with a group of political inmates has been confined in section 12, cell 4 and barely has access to a phone.
This Christian activist previously on 03-July 2013 detained by Robatkarim City court on charges of propagating material against Islamic republic, launching and leading deceptive Christian evangelical organizations, connection with the anti-Islamic revolution elements in abroad, setting up the Christianity internet sites, was sentenced for one year in prison and two years of exile to Sarbaz township, one of the most deprived and disadvantaged areas of the Sistan-Baluchestan province.
